Wreck in the Deben entrance

4/8/23 we encountered a sunk fishing boat north of the Knoll Spit PHB in the entrance to the Deben. There is room to pass close to the Deben SHB but the wreck may move.... visible at 2hrs before HW. Take care....

Likely to be moved on Saturday

I have no personal knowledge, but the comments in the Facebook posts RivalTedwing linked to suggest it has recently sunk.

Note that it also suggests that passage through the entrance maybe hindered while the attempts to move it - presumably around high tide this afternoon (Saturday) - are underway.

We heard that it all happened yesterday, the boat went off piste and then rolled over as the tide went out. Quite a large boat, largest of the Felixstowe Ferry based fleet I hear.

I've heard from a boat that entered at lunchtime today 5/8/23 that it is still there but a tug was standing by.......

Believe it is going to be pumped out at low tide.
