Would you fancy meeting for an East Coast Forum drink?

Yes, see how many is likely to come and "book a room". Find a pub with a private lounge and we can eat, drink and chat drivel :)

We have had them before and they have been a success, how about another meet. Previously we have met at Heybridge Basin and as that is about central on the East Coast, how about another meeting there in a pub one Sunday lunchtime?

Yes, it is workable, we have done it before and we can do it again. I suggest any Saturday or Sunday, and I suggest meeting at Heybridge as it is in the middle of the East Coast. I think having a meal might be more difficult to arrange, so lets just stick to drinks, and if any would like to stay on for a meal, so be it.

I'm OK with Heybridge (live not too far away) but would have thought somewhere more central might serve better...

Colchester - (not v boaty)
Wivenhoe - boatier but harder to reach etc.
Ipswich - good accessibility but maybe a little north? Maybe not - why not Ipswich?

These were my thoughts as well. I don't know that Wivenhoe has a big enough pub for many people. As you say, "Ipswich is a little north, which leaves Colchester.

I have a proposal. I suggest the Balkern Gate Table Table (postcode CO49WP) which is right next to the roundabout on Ipswich Road into Colchester junction with the A12.

I suggest a date and time of 11.00am on Saturday 6th January

That is miles away from the railway line..

How about the Beefeater Albert next to the ring road and close to the station.. Has a large car park and probably also accessible by bus.. I am thinking of the trip home after a beer... they also do food

Am I allowed to post a link? hoping anyway

Is anybody likely to come by train? The Balkern Gate is more accessible by those coming along the A12, from both north and south.
