Nice one Barry! I too had a nice day out on the boat. I was up in North Wales and the weather was glorious, but cold.

Winter boating?? Not bad is it!

Nice day here, too, but cool for Florida. Went across Sarasota Bay to the Hyatt for a magnificent brunch for my birthday w/wife and sister-in-law. Boat a bit sluggish, so I will have to get the wet suit on tomorrow and clean the props ready for a trip into Tampa Bay and St Pete, staying at the Vinoy on Tues.

I trundled up the Hamble for a drink at the Jolly Sailor only to find it was CLOSED UNTIL SPRING 2004. Ferry Restaurant also CLOSED so trundled back down Hamble to moor at the Public Pontoon. Bugle was CLOSED for Refurbishment but finally manged to find a pint in the Victory - relief at last.

Any excuse for a day out on the water - beautiful wasn't it.

Yes, a lovely afternoon yesterday.

Went up from Naburn to York, for an hours Christmas window shopping (only bought the new MBY!).

Definitely the best way to park in York on a pre-xmas weekend. Now all the trip boats are winterised, there's plenty of free moorings right in the centre.

Also very pleasant but cold on Windermere.
Did'nt actually get out of marina cos "er indoors" kept finding jobs to do and things to clean. Nevertheless a very enjoyable day with lovely veiws of the mountains on a such a clear day. Beautiful Chinese buffet at our local Bowness restaurant with two fellow boaters to round the day off. Got back this morning 9am.

ps
Thank goodness for blower heaters and microwaveable hot water bottles. (the latter for the Mrs by the way "honest")

Ian

Went to the Folly a couple of weekends ago. As you say, no problem mooring or getting served.

Didn't go on Sunday because a little too much spray around on my boat to make a trip to the IOW comfortable. Guess I am getting soft.
