And a this year call from a mobo in trouble off littlehampton who eventually coughed to the CG (& about 2000 listeners in VHF range) that the boat was called 'Bikini Bottom'.
My Trapper 500 came already named 'Booby Trap'. I feel a pr*t on Channel 16 (especially when admitting a grounding to the Coastguard) and we normally refer to the boat as BT.....
However, superstition prevents me renaming her! Incidentally a friend of mine has a 707 called Joe Blob.........
There is (or was) a boat in Ramsgate called 'Der Dogs' sporting a cartoon on it's transom of a dog licking his gonads.
"Mayday, mayday, mayday. This is yacht I Say...Ding Dong, I Say...Ding Dong, I Say...Ding Dong"
The name of a local angling trip boat 'She likes it rough' does leave a rather sour taste in the mouth, don't you think?
On the other hand, there's a whole class of names that are not bad names in themselves, but do seem to be tempting fate - 'Rockhopper', 'Force Ten', etc.
I generally find any boat name beginning with 'Lady' is a recipe involving pillocks who'd be better off on a gin palace mobo...
