Can anyone recommend suppliers / craftsman that can build a new fascia panel for me. I’ve just had new instruments put in and the existing GRP fascia now looks a bit dated.

Thanks.

I used Taplin in Southampton who did a superb job for me.They used the standard Volvo connectors which made life very much simpler. I wanted the helm updating and felt this was the best way to get rid of all of the modifications that had been made over time.

You could do it yourself though. They used a sheet of aluminium and a laminate which was then cut out using a hole saw. A gross over-simplification!

Best of luck

A friend had some done by Taplins and had to get them re-done twice before they were right. Another friend had one made by a firm in Poole I believe located in Cobbs Quay Marina. These were much cheaper and better quality than Taplins. The firm used to advertise in MBM / MBY but I haven't seen an ad lately.

I've see the adds as well and I can't remember their name either!
Taplin have been at attending Southampton Boat Show for years which is where I first saw them. Did a good job for me, even modifying the panels because I'd messed up on some of the dimensions!

Thanks for the comments chaps, any idea on the likley costs, the panel measures about 18" x 12" and has 8 panels, switches or dials to fit in.
