We are currently overwintering in Malta, with the view to head east and cruise Greece and Turkey the coming 2007 season. Our intial plan was to overwinter somewhere like Marmaris, but on following the weather temperatures for Marmaris and the Turkish coast on the internet, find them to be well below zero a lot of the time. We have been seeing ‘current observations’ of 0 degC at 3pm in the afternoon local time, with forecasts of -12degC….man, that’s COLD, bhurrr!
We are permanent liveaboards, so stay aboard all winter so climate is important to us. We now think we would do better to cruise Greece and then return to Malta for the winter.
Can anyone who has overwintered in Marmaris/Turkey, please give us any ‘real world’ idea of climate for the liveaboard cruiser over wintering there?
Many Thanks in advance
