Hah! I have no boat to lay up, no boat to anti-foul, check anodes, pay lift out charges for, service engines, buy Volvo bits for... I'm just a happy man now I am boatless. My Launch? peanuts to run, don't even buy red diesel for it.

Re: ... but not for others

Summer is coming back!! Off to the skittles bash this weekend. Down to Teddington on Sunday - across to France for a few days - 30 kts sun and wind in my face - French wine in my throat - ****** in bed and I'll be thinking of all those sad souls with no boat!! Maybe. Then a few days in St Kats to take in a show or two, let SWMBO get some shopping in and return to Windsor at the end of the month. Then winter can arrive! I'll think about all those jobs then, but not yet.

To lift out - or not lift out ?

To lift out or not lift out – that is the question
Whether the boat will mind or suffer
In the slings, and on the hard which costs an outrageous fortune
Or will be harmed in the sea is which is less trouble
If you buy some winter covers for the opposing ends

Just seen Ocean Eagle in Chatham Maritime Marina, she said to say hello and that she is missing you deeply.

Out! Out! Brief candle, Winters's but a poor player, a shivering shadow who struts and frets his hour upon the hard and then is heard no more until next year.

A Winter\'s Tale

Such a sweet creature my boat might have been, if I had not cruelly pulled her from the water

Never Did Winter\'s Tale !

Alas, poor TCM! I knew him,
Learner: a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy: he hath
made me an offer a thousand times; and now, how
abhorrent in his own imagination it was!
my gut rims at them Here hung those lips that I have kissed (aherm) I know
not how often. Where be your jibes now? your
gambols? your songs? your gallons of petrol ,
that were want to set the table on a roar? Not one
now, to mock your own cleaning? quite crest-fallen?
