I have the run about under a cover i made from camping ground sheets ( rather effective and cheap way to make a purpose made cover ) and just wondered how often i should be taking this cover off to ventelate the wood ?

I think rather than taking it off from time to time you should try to arrange the cover in such a way that there's scope for a continuous flow of air. I have my mast, stripped of spreaders, rigging etc. as a ridge pole keeping the cover off the boat and leaving big holes at either end for the wind to blow through. Seems to work well.

Thanks , good idea . I have raised the cover up so some kind of air flow is able to get in from the transom . Not the greatest amount but at least the cover moves when the wind blows rather than wrapping the boat and sealing it in .
