God I hate these winter months.....cold, wet, grey, dismal.......
Does anyone else hate them as much as i do, or have any instant 'get happy quick' remedies? /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Best remedy is an afternoon out on the boat.My trips out last weekend and earlier this week put a smile on my face for days.

Sitting in candlelight yesterday afternoon and evening, during three consecutive powercuts, in front of crackling log fire, reading a book, was also rather relaxing

Tony,

I could not agree more. The only good thing at the moment is knowing that we have passed the shortest day on the 21st Dec, which means we are heading in the right direction, the days are getting longer!! Woh ho!)

Re: a small suggestion

Me to pissed off..Boats on hard, weather wet and windy, daylight hours non existent here in Scotland, lots of jobs to do but none done...the only bright side is reading "PaulineB" additions to the forum....never mind the shortest day is passed, all down hill from now on.

Don't gloat - thats not fair when you two are in sunnier climes.

however, there is a plan to kidnap you and steal your luggage and return ticket when you come over in Jan. I think it's being sold on e-bay /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif.

Hiya Tony

Couldn't agree more. I hate this time of year. Dirty dead leaves everywhere, bare trees, ear freezing gusts, boat high and dry for months on end.

I hover about the boat doing a bit of tinkering every now and then. when I'm not tinkering I do a bit of polishing, when I'm not polishing I turn my hand to a bit of waxing, then I have a tinker, then a polish and a wax.

Its very theraputic. Keeps me sane! I think....

Glad its not only me. Just returned from a walk in the surrounding countryside with the Mrs and half way round with my ears hurting like hell I pronounced that "I f*****g hate winter" well move to Australia she replies (not exactly sure if she meant me or us) only wish I could but thats another story. The only thing that keaps me going till April is the thought of my holiday abroad in Feb. Days and the occasional weekends on the boat are ok but its just not the same as summer is it.

I hate it when the covers go on the back of the boat ..... that means the summer fun is over - but hey, the winter fun begins /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif. I'm lucky enough to live onboard all year round. I just love my sexy boat !!!

I love my boat too ! and the Mrs is ok. But its just not the same in winter. Summer evenings, sat on board, glass of Vino, a few nibbles and then something to eat you just cant beat it.
