Windscreen Wipers

We quite fancy the idea of a windscreen wiper. I am concerned, however, that the wiper would quickly damage the perspex window, making vision worse in dry weather.
Any thoughts?

My Evasion 32 is 26 years old and has two wipers fitted as original equipment. Dont know if the Perspex has ever been changed, but absolutely no sign of scratching or wiper marks.
