Wight storm 10 imminant

Going North East now looks like a search pattern.

Or going home

+1 on that.
That Polish yacht is going well, real 'Winged Hussar' stuff.

It's 48nm rhumb line from Boulogne to Eastbourne, and 32.9 into RYE, tide permitting, or 26.1 to the Dungeness E anchorage, and given the quite favourable wind direction, and even at say 4kts average, I would have thought 'Sassanach' would be in at Eastbourne around 22.30, the other two points much earlier, given a 10.30am departure.
The sea does kick up off Eastbourne, and Rye, maybe they've gone for Dover-51+nm away, but downwind.
Hope they're ok, RNLI going into Royal Sov now. RNLI Doing 6kts, maybe in company with the yacht, if it can do 6kts in the conditions?

Red Orm seems to be heading into the Solent-almost direct for the Gosport Fleshpots!
Morning All

Yes its the Hampshire I was looking at. How come this lifeboat is not showing up as the others did?

Could it be to stop nosy people like me from seeing what's going on?

The Eastbourne Lifeboat and the Hastings Lifeboats have been stood down and are returning to base.

The Selsey Lifeboat has been launched to go to the aid of "Sassenach" located SW of The Owers Light.

The Navigator of 'Sassenach' is off my crew list, if as per your post, they were making for Eastbourne from Boulogne this morning and are SW of the Owers 16hrs later. They've been bashing to windward all day!
Keep us up to date, Lenseman, I've got to go to bed, things to do later today, and a b/day party tonight, plus bad night's sleep yesterday.

Lifeboats are not required to have AIS but can turn it on if required in foggy conditions or multi-ship searching an area.

Liverpool is a long way from The Solent but this web site has AIS and the radio channels:

Not quite - RNLI LBs are gradually being fitted with AIS as they go back in for refit. Even the Atlantics / D class will be fitted eventually. Once it's fitted, it will be on when at sea.

MOB's are always Maydays, irrispective of what the calling boat declared it as - until they are back on board.
