Why would youi not want to sail here

Have done, for many years, when I was inclined to ventured south as well as the even better cruising ground that was only 170 miles or so to my east - that is the west coast of Norway

However, have now found a group of islands that have autonomy from their nearest neighbour, are 10 degrees C warmer all year round and no midges.
Sunshine is so overrated , and the midges och there no bother as long as you wear a net or a bio suit, which in these conditions is not a bad idea

Try swimming/diving in Shetland waters, I can assure you a good dry suit is far warmer and therefore more pleasurable than a wet suit or less.
I have dived professionally in Scottish waters so agree, just that I think of swimming as a different, pleasurable activity.

Having sailed in many places the Scottish Hebrides indeed is one of my favourite locations. Oban is a fantastic area, but don't forget Loch Aline or the Shiant Islands.

When you need to withdraw from the world these days I would go for the natural harbour on the west side of Rona near Portree. Just don't tell anyone.

I am sure the residents of Rona will be delighted to see you, just self isolate for 14 days after arrival before going ashore.
Acarseid Mohr? is not as remote as you remember it, there are visitor moorings there now.

Always good to know you are welcome ;).

Yes it can be hard to find swinging space at Rona these days. There are still a few hideholes dotted about the place, but that is certainly not one of them.
As I said on the other thread, I'll take my chances on my croft, thanks very much. It's all academic now anyway, no more Calmac so I can't even get to the boat.
