Why I like boating on the SoF

The significance of this will probably be lost on you all…but…this is a dog that hates going in water…that’s how hot it is today

still cannot believe that you eat burgers and chips everyday
I was also wondering.
Then again, if the alternative is that sort of salade dish in background, I can see why one might prefer burgers...
Can't they prepare half decent fish recipes anymore, in France?!?

The only thing that should eat a fish…is a bigger fish

So I got my bow thruster working by using my compressor to give it a quick clean (and a quick service to the stern thruster while I was at it)…the problem is my workshop compressor is too heavy for me to keep lugging it around…but having one onboard is handy (I think)..so I bought a cheapie…only ten kilos, squat so it doesn’t fall over crossing a wake…it’s not quiet like my lovely silent compressor but I have a pair of ear defenders

What does the maintenance schedule say about the thrusters ?

I mean blowing out the dust from the commutator(s) can’t be the official maintenance regime .

It’s a stop gap .
You could have simply via suitable connector used your 12v/ 24 / compressed air pump presumably you have that you use for inflatables.Or via suitable adapter recycled the air back from a inflated inflatable….to blow the commutator(s) .

What you have here is most pointless ( as in TV game show ) answer to this solution .

These are brushed motors...horrible things...they make huge amounts of carbon dust...which makes a mess of your boat and reduces the electrical contact. The motor is usually removed and cleaned...and brushes replaced if they are worn...assuming you can find them.
I can no longer get into the tight position under the bed to remove/install the motor...and the technicians were all too busy this time of year. It’s a stopgap solution..but, touch wood, it’s working so far. And it really only has to keep going until winter when the technicians will be free

It’s an 8 bar 230v compressor but with a very little tank

Walking back to the boat after dinner out..time to watch the France vs Italy rugby World Cup game

... and of course it would be a fish that has nothing to do with bloody Med! excellent, not!
:p

I recon you should try a bit harder or move back to the north!
In fact in my short stay here I have had fish twice for dinner…fish & chips and salmon
Baby steps Vas…baby steps

Bit of a grey start to this morning but it should turn into a perfect day for a short boat ride (might take on some fuel first)
