Would you be happy if Pol Pott (sp) or Kim Il Yung, or hitler had had nukes, present ruler of Iran is not quite at that level of idiocy, but hes definitely working on it. His government have been openly supporting a number of terrorist organisations for years, and quite a bit of the trouble in southern iraq is inspired by Iran, do you wish for Al Queda or similar to have access to nuclear weapons?

Should be restricted to permanent members of the UN security council IMHO - UK, US, France, China, Russia - if we have to have the ruddy things at all.
The problem is how to get Israel to give nukes up - and with the nutters in Iran vowing the destruction of Israel, the nutters in Israel are just bolting more warheads together...

Bush wants to attack Iran but is aware of the weight of western world opinion after his recent arabian adventures. He needs to change these opinions. Simple: the CIA launch a cartoon campaign which inflames the clothheads and reminds us all what a dangerous bunch of nutters these guys are! Job done.

The answer to that one is the "nutters" in Israel are one hell of a lot more predictable than Iran/Iraq, and the western governments know that, given the amount of money they have had to spend trying to influence them.
See how ungrateful Saddam was for all the money and the years America and Britain had paid him to oppose Iran.
Anyroad, the Israeli interests at this time match ours, and since Iran does not recognise the right of Israel to exist I am sure Israel will do for the west what it has done in the past, ie, get on and deal with the threat in a manner our lot seem not able to organise or contemplate, that is if the situation demands it.
Afraid I have never believed in disarmament, if you aint got it you are going to get thrashed, and it has to be controlled, its the threat it poses that means it has been controlled to date, and no, I do not believe that there are that many stable regimes out there in the middle east.
