Everyone here seems to think the Forum is really sllllooooowwww at the moment. Ha Ha, well not me. I am only connected at 64kb/s, all the pictures are enabled e.t.c and everything loads instantly and I've never had a problem posting.
Surely it can't be the servers then,,,can it?

Two problems I think. People don't often understand that there are a lot of links between the forum and their pc, some of which can get bottlenecked - especially their ISP in peak periods.
The other is that Kim has stated that the server is taking a hit as there are so many users now.

There do seem to be quite a lot of problems at the moment with people posting messages that don't seem to arrive properly so appear as non existent postings when you click on them.
This same problem can be caused though by people deleting their own posts without un-ticking the 'show as edited' box
And a fair bit of double and triple posting where people have clicked on the submit button a few too many times.

Can't understand why so many people are starting new threads about the problem though. Why not simply contribute to one of the zillion current ones

Which bit of 'starting' new threads don't you understand. I said nothing about contributing to them?

I dont like the way the forum runs with new posts simply being added to original threads, but that thread not being moved to the top of the page. aAtleast when people start new threads they are easy to find rather than having to scroll down through reams of stuff

Yes, but when 30 odd threads are all started on the same subject?

Anyway, there's a post from the powers that be, that we should find loading speeded up now, and it certainly does seem quicker

Re: IOW 1971(I think)

I saw him at the Festival Hall at a concert called the "Guitar In" or somethinglike that. There was him, a clasical guitarist, a folk guitarist and others. It was fabulous and the only time i ever saw him. Still one one of my Guitar Hero's
