Which trailer sailer!

Easy target

You'd better PM Whitelighter with this info as he has expressed the opinion on a previous thread that these limits only apply to commercial towing.

Lakesailor,

well I don't think ' commercial towing ' applies to anyone except certain thieving types making off with their ill gotten gains from someones' drive, or pro delivery fims; I have heard of standard folk on holiday being hauled over by the plod on the M27, including my next door neighbour.

The limits apply to everyone. As well as a fine and points, you won't be allowed to continue on your way, and will end up with your boat at an inconvenient location, a spoiled sailing trip, and hassle and expense to get it moved legally.

Probably they suspected because of his known association with a nefarious character who goes by the alias 'Seajet'.

Twister Ken,

yes I'm also known as ' Black-hearted Jake, the cut-throat pirate '.

My chum was happily towing his caravan behind his RageRover, then got pulled over and quizzed, when the nice policeman couldn't find anything wrong he looked at the daughter, " why's she out of school ? " --- " She's 4 years old "...

Other people have been marched to the weighbridge near Cadnam and given even more hassle.

As I and a lot of people say, easy targets compared to the low life who broke into my boat and my Dads' on separate occasions and stole my car, the only response I got to that was a ' crime number ' to let the insurers do the work.

Hi there,

I have just sold my dinghy and am considering a 20ft centreboard boat. After a dinghy I suspect that any boat will feel like a proper yacht, I just wonder whether you are happy with your sun 2000 which is top of my list. You hear some people say that etaps are better, benetau 211 is better etc... however, I am constrained by budget and need a flat bottomed boat to run up to the beach and keep on a shallow mooring. Are you happy with yours from a sailing point of view and also the build quality. Any feedback much appreciated.
