Which rope for lazyjacks?

Sorry, should have said 'rope type' rather than imply rope size. Interested in why you might use dyneema. To reduce windage?

Which Rope for Lazyjacks?

As already stated, depends on the sail size, and also personal choice. Our boat had 8mm braidline which 'looked' too heavy, and did not have any blocks, only spliced eyes, which created a lot of friction.
I then made up my own with 6mm 3 strand nylon and stainless rings. The choice of 3 strand was to allow splicing of the connections, then heat shrink for a neat finish.
The snap hooks have just been added so that the lazy jacks can easily be disconnected from the bag.

The triangle connectors were cut so that they could be fitted to the lazy bag webbing eyes (I think 'D' rings might be better)

Stretch and creep doesn't matter much, so don't waste money on Dyneema/Vectrac/etc.

Choose something with good UV resistance. (I use the cheap multiplat, which seems ok).

It's what the boat came with from new. 4mm Dyneema is used in other places where stretch and strength does matter. I suspect it's just what the yard had rather than stocking another rope type.

250 pound braided fishing line, the green stuff. stainless rings, hauled up with the spinnaker halyard.

Tip: Leave some extra length at the rings so you can make final adjustments and get it perfect.

The above would have been about 8 years old when we sold that particular yacht.

Good luck and fair winds. :)
