Lots out there, sealed units, with batteries, flashing, non-flashing, expensive, reasonable.
Anyway, some thieving s-d took one of our Aqua spec AQ180 lights, but when I checked the other one I found the expiry date was April 14, so I am not too bothered.
I have looked online and will probably not go again the 'sealed unit 5 year life then throw away route'.
I like the look of the KTR LED flashing light model, and the price is ok here, but has anyone got these and could comment?

Thank you,

Got one a few weeks ago. Looks like a great improvement on what it replaces. Will be interesting to see if it stands the test of time.

This was also my choice. It seems well made and you can turn it off for storage. I keep it below until needed and it should therefore last a long while.

Got these. seem fine - of course they have not been put to the ultimate test yet, or ever hopefully.

So where do you mount that on the lifebuoy? It's obviously not designed to be free-floating like most lifebuoy lights, but if you just strap it to the front then it has a 50% chance of ending up underwater.

Also the casualty is likely to block it with his body when he puts the horseshoe on, though admittedly buoys have slowly shrunk over the years to the point that most people can't put them on as originally designed anyway.

Thank you for the replies.
Unfortunately some of the suggestions were not suitable for lifebuoys.
Twister Ken has made a very good point that ingress of water is frequently a problem with the replaceable battery type.
My Aquaspec AQ180 lights have been in place on the boat for 5 years continuously and the remaining one is still working, therefore I would buy the same ones but I do not think they are manufactured any more.
I have ordered the KTR ones locally for about 23 Euros each, and I will give my feedback in due course.

Cheers,

Michael.
