Agree the Manhattan is pretty good - £399 from johnlewis.com with a 5 year warranty - quite worthwhile if it's being slammed around on a boat all the time.
Bought a Sharp LC15E1E from http://www.empiredirect.co.uk for £470 late last year and a hauppage DEC-1000T freeview adaptor. Both work from 12V. Also bought a VOGELS bracket for the Sharp which allows you to tilt etc and provides a secure mount.
how does a relisys 17" with built in tuner sound at £495.00 with a wall mounting bracket. 12volt / 240 volt also doubles up as computer monitor, stereo sound, text etc.

Just bought a 7inch wide screen format TV from Maplin. Ok, nowhere near as good as a 15 or 17 inch one, but not bad for £145. Like any TV only as good as the signal.
I found a 15inch TV a bit cumbersome for my little cuddy, the 7 inch suits better, runs off 12v and only draws 600mA.

I recently installed an AOC 17" monitor with a TV box and a digital set top box.....I can get free to air, PC and terrestrial tv with a Nargus aerial at about 5 miles out not forgetting video and DVD and it is all 12 volts with unused mains adapters..... Picture is outstanding but I had to hide all the cables and rig up my own speakers.....

I am living on board at the moment ! I do agree with you in princpal not to have a tele on board but.. there are execptions, while living on board and also for the kids (me) ! big kid..
ah but I don't post from the boat - or even browse (although I have the capability!)..../forums/images/icons/smile.gif
tom - absolutely agree; and I will even give Geoffs the benefit of the doubt as I don't know anyone who spends as much time living on a boat that size! oh and Planty's only got them for the kids...................bugger it new post coming up "Why don't manufacturers understand the real needs of their customers and fit 15" flatscreen TVs to all their models as standard?"
