I have a boat which has ss props. when the tide is in I am in sea water and when the tide is out I am in fresh water. As there are anodes recomended for salt h2o and others for fresh water h2o which should I use. The sea water anodes I am at present using are virtually gone in one season. I am concerned that an extended season would result in gear casing damage.

You need to stay with seawater (zinc) anodes. Freshwater (Magnesium) anodes will anodise rapidly in seawater.

If they are eroding in a season they are doing they're job. If you have ss props, then consider providing some additional or larger sized anodes as I believe ss props increase rate of anodisation.

Definitely stick with zinc! - not sure if many people make it through a whole season on a single set of anodes in any case - i know i don't.
