Where's my navionics@boating subscription?

With a Garmin Echomap and a Simrad Go9 both using Navionics on the boat, one of them is very easy to use and requires no action by the user to update etc. after the initial setup, the other requires a lot of to and frow from the user via an Active Captain app on their phone to update etc.
Bah Humbug, at least the Simrad is not restricted to just Navionics, it can also use C-Map if I feel inclined and win on the lottery. ;)
Oh, and the Simrad website does not keep redirecting you to a French website like the Garmin does if you look for any info.

Navionics support is being dropped by Navico, so C-Map will be the only choice going forwards. The latest B&G doesn't support Navionics.

I assumed it was another go at making people buy their own charts. Unfortunately for them, the reason their charts are unpopular isn’t the charts its the software and the price. Navionics got all that right and took the market. Unfortunately Garmin and software don’t mix, I strongly doubt it’s greed with Garmin, they genuinely are a good company, they just make bad decisions and are not great with software.

I was thinking that the 'others' don't want to enrich Garmins coffers ....

I’m sure that’s what they’re thinking but the reality is that it’ll reduce their sales. I won’t buy another B&G system so they’ve lost at least one customer.
