Maybe the "HF" is for Hammerfest ?
Continuing on the "HF" theme, maybe it's Höfn.
Yes its Hafnarfjörður.
I lived there for about 4 years, now 20 years ago. Its a nice little harbour, capable of taking small coastal traders, and the fishing fleet shown here.
We were always amazed at the efficiency of load/unload of one trawler in particular.
It came steaming in, and tied up, and the crew walked off with their bags. The next crew were boarding and took over on the run. They offloaded by a small forklift through a side entry to the hold. Off came packaged ready to despatch, frozen pallet loads of cod labelled as own brand Marks and Spencer.
It had been caught, processed, packaged and frozen at sea.
Meanwhile the stores truck was loading on food from the crew, another doing fuel, water etc. About 4-5 hours later, engines not even having been shutdown, they were untying and heading out to sea again. Away about 10 days, and the cycle started again.
The harbour was formed in about the 1300s or something by a volcano lava flow forming a natural harbour.
