Wades ashore with anchor over shoulder, trailing line. Walks up to top of beach and wraps anchor and line around pole with 'No Waiting' sign attached.

Even the old-style bent Danforth copy works well in that config, provided you use a proper round-turn-and-two-half-hitches around the post......

Wades ashore? are your legs as long as your ears?
Over here the more seamanlike way is to attach the shoreline to a stout pair of flip flops and bury them in the shingle, they can be found all along the beach. Or the line can be looped over a tourists cars wing mirror, this has the advantage of folding back releasing the line when you motor forward.

Those islands around Kefalonia, must be some of the most interesting coastline in Greece to explore by boat..... doesn't matter how often one sails there, there is always another bay to explore.
