Any suggestions on where I could get new rudder brackets made for my ageing rudder? They are currently made from galvanised steel but the lower one is getting a little thin.
Cheers

It would help to know where you are based? your public profile doesnt indicate this. Do you just want to replace like for like or go for stainless steel?
However, any stainless fabricator should be able to make them up for you.

If the bracket is below the waterline stainless steel won't necesarily perform very well in terms of corrosion resistance. I was looking at a friend's Moody when it was hauled out a few weeks ago, and its rudder brackets were made of bronze.

Polly1,

As Mikewade says, depends where you are.

I know a brilliant stainless steel fabricator, Chris Silverthorne at C & J Marine, by Chichester Marina ( at the far, C.Y.C. end ) West Sussex.

Despite the prime location, one of the old school with a wonderful workshop, ( like a museum if one is a crusty engineer ! ) and good value.

I have no connection with Chris, other than he's made some very good bits & pieces for me and as I'm impressed by the quality and value, am passing it on.
