...Ain't so hard to guess, actually - see below.
If any petrolhead is interested, I can post more pics! :encouragement:

I would say you've been in and around Milan. I think you have paid a visit to the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo in Arese.

We have a winner! This is it, in fact.
I've been telling myself that I had to see it for a while, but only just made it.
HIGHLY recommended to anyone who likes cars, engineering, and also art.
In fact, some of that stuff positively belongs to this last category, first and foremost.

I'll throw in another hint with a couple of very peculiar cars (2 engines each!), but if you see a too obvious pointer, don't trust it...! :)
How are those engines coupled together and controlled?

Btw for anyone thats interested the Ferrari museum in Modena is fab too. Even better, there are a few places not far from the museum where you can rent a Ferrari for short test runs on the public road. I rented a brand new California for 15 mins for €40 and it was worth every Eurocent. Yeah I know the California is the hairdressers Ferrari but the exhaust sound!

'fraid I don't know exactly, M.
The very kind and nice lady which showed us around had learnt well her lesson about historic events and all that, but I understood after the first tech question from another visitor that it wasn't worth asking for more.
Otoh, the parallel engines car, as you can sort of grasp from the above pic, was REALLY in parallel: two identical engines and gearboxes, with one g/box lever connected to both, and two transmission axles going to the rear wheels - go figure...!
Though in terms of actual results, the other car with the Ferrari sticker and fwd and rear engines was more remarkable.
It didn't actually win anything on tracks, because its steering was a nightmare, but a completely crazy guy called Nuvolari managed to push that thing at 360+ km/h on a motorway.
Now, that puts the bollocks of modern F1 pilots in perspective!

I think I know. The nearside engine drives the nearside rear wheel and the offside engine drives the offside rear wheel. And there's 2 accelerator pedals so that the driver can make sure the car goes in a straight line with a steering wheel connected to the front wheels to help with that. The driver can back off one engine or another to help the car go round a corner or even put one engine in reverse to make the car turn on its own axis. There are no brakes; the driver just puts both engines into reverse to slow the car down but I guess tyre wear could be quite high

Sounds outlandish now I know. You wouldn't put such a complicated inefficient drive system in any kind of modern vehicle;)

Unless it floated, of course. :D

Well folks, it's not like I've been overwhelmed with requests for other pics... But hopefully, this doesn't mean that you are all dull bimmer fans. :p
Besides, a friend of mine asked me to upload some pics to cross link them elsewhere, so I thought that I could as well throw them into this thread, just in case anyone might appreciate.
Here goes...

What? Don't tell me that you dismissed the Fiat Coupé for a bimmer...?! :ambivalence:
Btw, that German thing obviously ain't good for you V, 'cause you missed the Duetto in the pics above!
Visible in two of them, even...

P, you mean these two pics? Top one doesn't look like (what I know at least as!) a duetto

taxation down here is too harsh, so had to (temporarily at least) resort to using just one car. After spending over a year in the garage trying to sort out an ever so slightly warped block and cylhead (yes I'm talking about the fcking Bimmer!) I put the coupe to rest for a year and using the X3 until she breaks down again and I get the coupe out
