Funny thing about Loch Tarbert in Jura, is that you feel as though you are utterly alone at night, that is until you notice the glow of the street lighting from Glasgow and Renfrewshire.

We had a meal and an evening anchored in the Treshnish Islands last summer and I was amazed to discover that I had a good mobile broadband signal there. We went to Gometra for the night - iffy forecast - and there wasn't a hint of a signal there. It was a very odd place to be in touch with civilisation.
