I’ve just read an old thread, which prompted this. I have tiller steering on my boat and have no problems using it; indeed it is a pleasure. I drive a car, which you will all know has a wheel, to work every day a round trip of forty miles plus the weekend trip to the coast, another hundred. Until recently I drove buses and coaches, which have big wheels, nine hours a day and apart from a slight altercation with a Honda Accord in Cherry Hinton, no problems. So why is it whenever I’m trusted with the helm on a friends Moody 42, which has a very big wheel, and he says turn to starboard, I slip into tiller mode and turn to port?
