What's in your grab bag?

Re: youre joking right?

Well, there is a problem, as I see it, Adrian: you don't want anything smaller than say, an eight foot/15kW antenna, and the mast needed to take that weight may well make the owner, sorry, boat unstable. That gets you into RCD regulations and angles of vanishing stability and all that techy stuff again...

Re: youre joking right?

tcm is convinced that Happy's Memory Maker is way beyond normal parameters for angles of vanishing stability already............possible answer is to fit a couple of serious batteries below the centre of stability, maybe with a backup genset?

Re: youre joking right?

Excuse me but I think my boat has a wave piercing hull /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif No Joking, ask Duncan, Forbsie or BarryH, they witnessed it in action /forums/images/icons/wink.gif At 42 knts it just goes through them, even when some joker feeds you one mother of a wake combined with another mother of a wake. I must have been airborne 15 - 20% of the time, still once I get my nerves up I can push the boat a bit more, but I want to learn how to handle it first. BarryH was my first non family crew member, I think he enjoyed the excitement of the night passage to Yarmouth /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif shame he only had one spare pair of pants, but then the shops were open on Saturday /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif. Problem was that at one point when he was shouting HELP he swallowed a wave, the sea water makes him sea sick, but he coped OK /forums/images/icons/wink.gif I'm sure my boat is a frustrated RIB, and it could knock spots off most of them out there, just waiting for my first challenge race /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Re: youre joking right?

It won't last that long. Being pushed like that all the time the integrity of the hull will be compromised in no time at all. So all it'll really need is a wreck mark, no make that a historical wreck, because I'm sure this is going to go down in boating folklaw.

Re: youre joking right?

Your right of course - Radar is non sensible option for a boat that size.

But I sure Happy is serious.....
