Re: youre joking right?

it's where I got trained to be able to assimilate the information on 2 sonars, 2 chartplotters , 2 radios, throttle trim and steering whilst monitoring everything going on outside the boat as well!
Memo to self - get autopilot before adding radar.

Boat jumble

I may have a small boat jumble at the next meet /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif I think that I will have to wait until I win the lottery to get the use of some of the stuff on boat big enough. It was nice to see some of the toys in action on some boats over the weekend, and the gear available that I saw on other boats. Still I will have to stick with what I have until we decide if boating is for us. What is scary is that it can go on and on, getting bigger boats. I may joke about sky dishes, but I bet some find a way of getting them fitted /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Re: Boat jumble

you can get a small portable sky dish - it has a sucker thingy on the bottom so you can stick it anywhere you like on the boat.

can't remember what its called but I can find out - there are a couple on the pontoon here

Re: Boat jumble

Thanks but I don't think I will be in my little cuddy long enough to get full use of Sky!! I was having a laugh though, I didn't know they made them, how do they keep pointing in the right direction, or do you just use them when moored at a marina?

Re: Boat jumble

you just use them in the marina - if you want to watch tv going along then you need one of those omni expensive thingys or an aerial on a motor

I don't know about water-piercing hull but the Harry S Truman went on full alert on saturday afternoon after picking up low-flying inbound coming from direction of Newtown Creek.

Re: youre joking right?

We had fun in the Aurora's wake late yesterday afternoon. A very big ship when you are only 21ft. Certainly tested the Glastron's stability, I must say that it is a superb little boat and superb value for money. We may get the GS279 with a KAD32 and duo prop in a few weeks if this does OK, then Will can have this little one to himself for the summer. The GS 279 is about half the price of the Sealine, OK the finish is not the same but then we could spend 10k getting it re lined e.t.c. I want to give one a blast though and see how we get on. It may be a stepping stone and cheaper option at the moment before buying a proper boat.
