Each to their own. I fail to see why you are upset. No-one needs to read any post, we do it voluntarily. If I feel the desire to offer extra and over and above what is needed that is my choice - not yours.

I used polycarbonate to replace a lost wooden fore hatch. It worked great for 15 years and then I sold the boat.
I had it fabricated locally and it was formed by bending a sheet to form the front, top, and back then two side pieces glued in.
