I would hope that this is the case, but perhaps worth contacting SH.Or, since it's a VHF and knows its own MMSI, is it clever enough to work this out?

So what did the radio make of seeing an AIS transmitter practically on top of it at all times? Did you just turn off all the alarms and leave it? As far as I'm aware, there's no way of telling it "don't worry, that one is you". Or, since it's a VHF and knows its own MMSI, is it clever enough to work this out?

I'm sure lots of people have added an AIS transponder to a boat with a GX2100E, does the plotter really matter? What aspect of doing so are you concerned with?
I only mentioned the system to give an overall view of whats existing, if a transponder is connected to the radio only what wiring is involved and which Transponder was used.
yes it's clever enough to do that.
... don't really need to connect the transponder to anything.
