Dear all,
I have a 17' fibreglass day cruiser that I am restoring. It's an early 70's boat, lots of work required. I have sanded the hull back to the original gelcoat which is pretty thin so I want to paint it but am unsure of my options. I would like to end up with a good hard polished finish and I also want to put a layer of anti-foul on it.
I have been told to paint under the anti-foul as it is not a reliable water barrier on its own. I like the idea of toplac. It gets great reviews but is it is not suitable for hull? Would it be ok to use pre-kote and toplac on the hull and then put a layer of anti-foul on the hull's bottom (waterline)?
Many thanks
