What do you do if you are sitting here resting a damaged leg and outside it is lovely and sunny and about 18 kts of wind!!!???

Change your Doctor.
I am sure that you could find one who would recommend that the only sensible cure for the leg is to be rested near sea water. The salt in the breeze would help to mend it much quicker than the polluted air inland.
This way you can go sailing during the week, rather than having to go to work.
Also, once the leg is healed, you wouldn't want to come inland again too soon, just in case you get a relapse...
