What Sort of Season?

Went out about 4 consecutive Sundays. Then broke the gooseneck, new one took six weeks to arrive.
Lost 4 more weekends due to other commitments, now today it's been blowing a hooley so I did some repairs not sailing. Next weekend I have other commitments. The week after on the Saturday is the start of regatta week let's hope that goes ok.

To be honest... it’s perfect boating weather....but what with heat and the crowds....we’re going out...but a little at a time.

Hot ...HOT... HOT! And not a breath of wind. Some glorious sunsets though.

Andrew one reason we left the Med was it was getting hotter and hotter to live full time , ok for them who return back home in the hottest months .
see what the temperature been like this year and last we glad we made that choice.

For us the season started with an haul out to drop rudder to replace bearing ,
then a sail to Denmark , strong NE winds all the way, via the Netherlands then Germany ,we only stop tacking once we entered the Baltic ,
by which time we first found our wind instruments vain got broken sailing over needed to order a new one ,
it didn’t stop there , then we found the engine started to vibrate badly in tick over ,
mounts on the way out , we could had probably waited till we got back but I decide as we had time to spare to do them ,
so they was replace , more dosh .
now thinking about our return trip , guess what nothing but westerly/ south west , sod law .
could be worst , I could still Be sailing in unbearable temperatures in the Med or doing the gardening.

I totally agree, mid July to end August is unbearable. Every year up to now we've left Greece then. But SWMBO's daughter has been desperate to come out for a sail, and can only get school holidays - so this year, the hottest ever, we find ourselves committed until the end of July.

SWMBO has vetoed my proposal to decamp to an air-conditioned hotel while she and daughter 'enjoy' sailing together. Honestly, families -- who'd have them?
