I am revamping my website and want to optimise it to the most commonly used screen resolution. Thanks for your input.

And what about 1152 x 864 ...

Thats discrimiation that is! I demand that this post be pulled right now, to protect the feelings of my monitor and graphics card ... it is going to take weeks to convince them that they are perfectly normal, even though they may not use the same display size as the majority.

Unfortunately this will be skewed in favour of people who know what screen resolution is and/or care! Globally 67% of people using the internet are on 1024 x 768 or higher.

My firm still usually designs sites for 800 x 600, but we have recently built a site optimised for broadband users at a resolution of 1024 x 768 - I have some colleagues who design high end advertising sites for the big brands and they always design for 1024 x 768 now. My advice would be to go to the higher resolution if you wish, but where possible keep your critical information inside the 800 x 600 screen area.

Thanks all for your input.

Sonnamara, "critical information"? None on my site mate - it's all a load of b*llocks about being completely idle.

Re: Parole

Thought you had been sent to the "cooler" for something or other. Did you get parole for good behaviour or did you have to bribe the guardians of PCness?
