What is this ???

Do the cables go anywhere? I found a hefty multi core on Sheolin that turned out to be from a removed radar system.

Sheolin does have one bit of kit that uses both multi core and co-ax, and that’s a Stowe Navigator 1&2 system which displays wind speed & direction plus boat speed. No junction box though.
Same here, found the main controller for the radar in behind the lower helm dash and a big heavy multicore cable run in the cable tray under the saloon sole, no scanner, no display or keyboard. but I do have a pic of the boat with the radar on it.

Knop is the same in Dutch, means knot

Hello Nigel
Re the amp meter with needle stuck, I would remove meter and open it up. Often there is metal swarf between the coil and the magnet pole face assuming it is a moving coil meter. This can sometimes be removed with patience and sticky tape. If you want centre zero then this can be achieved by adjusting the spring adjust to move the pointer to centre. Then recalibrate dial. I agree the blue box is a project box with home made inside. Any commercial manufactured device would have label. ol'will
