After seeing how the forum reacts to 'what next skip' I thought we could all run a series of 'what did you do next Skip'
The difference being true life events but instead of trying to give the correct answer of what should have been done , the forum try to deduce what the forum member actually did, a sort of cross between
what next skip
and
where is this
I am happy to start the series, and lets be gentle in the hope others will also fess up /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
After a 110 nm mile F6 cruise in a Fairline Corniche I was wet through, much of the journey had been on the nose and each wave smacked me in the face before finding its way down my neck, the rest of the wave settled on my seat where I soaked it up like a sponge.
The corniche was on legs and wasn't going to finger berth in a F6 which was now enhanced with the late afternoon sea breeze.
Raft/Pile mooring was just the answer to avoid stress and damage /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
The HM directed us to berth along side a 40 ft sailing boat, and then he disappeared /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
Wind was forcing us on, current was forcing us on, fenders were out, perfect /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
We gently went along side and swmbo leaned over and put a bow line on the yachts bow cleat.
I was just on my way down from the flybridge when the Yacht skipper came on deck with a wooden/metal boat hook.
yacht skipper
'You can not moor here'
swmbo
'the berthing master has just directed us here and the rest of the harbour is full'
Yacht skipper
'you will have to go'
swmbo shouts to me
'He says we can not stay'
yacht skipper now takes swmbos line off and throws it back on our deck
then gets his boat hook and pushes us off and back so the current starts to push us onto the next raft of boats.
