I'm selling my Bav 34 as I've run out of anchors, it heels to much, and is a bit of a slammer. What kind of boat should I consider?

Tell us more......

where do you sail? How many aboard? Short coastal hops or long ocean passages? Do you fancy trailer sailing/ jet skiing/whatever? Would a multihull appeal? What's the budget? Long keel/ fin. bilge keel/ centreboard? etc!

Personal bias creeping in, but I think whatever it is, it should be gaff rigged and built of wood (yes, even jet skis).

Re: I suggest

You don't want to get involved with a Twister - winds of up to 250 mph can cause havoc with your sails - mind you'd get a fair bit of speed on for a few seconds before they (and you) were destroyed. Didn't you see the film?

No I'm retaining them for my new craft. You can have the Chesterfield, though. Whats a Twister? I had thought of a MacGregor 26, are they any good?

So a Twister's better than a Big Mac? Whats the difference, they're both about the same size and price? THe Mac looks a bit more classy though!

Funny you mentioned the Macgreggor. I was going to suggest the very same. An ideal vessel for you with proven ocean crossing performance. Oh I nearly forgot, It won't heel much if you only use the motor & leave the sails down.

Think the main difference is that the Wee Mac may get you there quickly whereas the Twister will get you there slowly.

So with a Twister you get more sailing!

Aye but with a Mac the Russian Roulette of survival must add a certain spice to it all!

Shame about the dodgers, though - obviously owned by some namby-pamby.
