My arm is aching just thinking about all the maintenance on those

Water transparency under a dock doesn't get better than that anywhere else! (y)
Somewhere in Maddalena archipelago?
Yes, you guessed right, Porto Pozzo. The water around this area is incredibly clear and the turquoise water colour in the summer is like nowhere else I've seen around the world.

Beautiful location, and boat :) You may already know the area very well but if not, and if you need ideas for great anchorages you could day-boat to from Porto Pozzo, then ask away :)

Actually, when I mentioned the unreal water transparency I was referring to your generic "Sardinia based" comment, without knowing yet the exact location. In fact, that comes with the territory just about anywhere in Sardinia, for structural reasons, so to speak.
Firstly, it's a huge island, but with a very low population density (less than one third of the Balearics!) and very few industries, so pollution is unheard of.
Besides, it's right in the middle of the Med, surrounded by extremely deep seas all around, and exposed to all sorts of winds and currents.
Lastly, even where the seabed is sandy, it takes a big storm to stir it enough to affect water transparency, because it's a very heavy and compact sand - the opposite for instance of the Adriatic.

Bottom line, I'm well aware of how stunning the Maddalena Archipelago is, and that you can cruise there for years and still have new places left to explore.
BTW, a large and fast RIB like yours is perfect in this respect.
But I can also assure you that you wouldn't be disappointed just about anywhere else in Sardinia, if and when you will head south - either along the W or E coast, since both have their attractions.
In fact, talking of clear and turquoise waters, these are just a couple of examples from exactly the opposite side of the island, which speak for themselves...

Being a rib, with limited facilities on board and also the wind can get up quite quickly, which the wife dislikes, so we tend to day boat within around 5/10 miles or so from Pozzo where there are many great anchorages but I'd really lke to hear your other suggestions if just to see your suggestions or if we already have discovered them.

I agree, the whole Island is surrounded by stunningly beautiful water and scenery not just where I'm based. One day, with more time and better planning we aim to explore more of the east coast on the boat doing maybe a hotel hop. I don't have a trailer for this boat so towing and launching in other area's is no longer an option which we had with the smaller previous boat.
I'm amazed how few Brits we see on the island in mid summer, it's mainly Italians, it really is a unspoilt gem of a holiday destination and needs to stay that way (y)?

Watching you videos just makes me wish May comes sooner as we aim to go for a week then and then 3 weeks in August...

Other than the engine, same boat...Bond's boat was a Huntress fitted with an Interceptor petrol engine.
Chase boats were a Huntsman 28, a standard Huntress and a long cabin Huntress.

Mine is an ex Navy hull (which has extra hull laminations for strength) powered by a Perkins T6.354....which was the original motor for the navy boats.

Julz's boat is for sale and its a really manageable way into classic motorboating.

Julz, the other Huntress is not a Fairey Long Cabin like mine, it was shipped as a kit to Lallows in Cowes, they built the top, she does have the main bulkhead a bit further aft, so only space for a 4 pot motor (my main bulkhead in the same place, so my 6 pot has the front in the cabin, but I do have space for a galley too. The Long Cabins and 26's are fascinating rarities.
