what boat do you have

I’ve seen a couple in Empuriabrava (Costa Brava). Perfect day boat for that coastal area. Where are you going to keep it?
Hi, I will be keeping it in RCNPP Marina, Puerto Pollenca. As you say perfect for coastal trips and occasional overnighter. The advantage of smaller boat is that I can get into the smaller bays etc.

Just looked at your spot on Google Earth, yes perfect and such a lovely looking boat. The video on your link shows a bit of my cruising ground around Cap de Creus, lovely to see it.
You have a great summer ahead.

In fact this one shows it in my marina

That’s where I had a test drive!

Just throwing a cat amongst the pigeons by posting a motor/power sailer amongst the power boats! May as well take some stick from the powerboaters like I get from the sailors!
Jack of all trades and master of none boat.
Also trailerable, shallow water capable and live onboard for extended periods equipped.
We recently spent 6 weeks living onboard splitting sailing and motoring about 50/50.
It both sails and can plane at up to 18 knots under it’s 115hp Yamaha Outboard and carries a Honda 2.2 eu generator in a manufacturer box in the stern for hot water showers and other ac uses. :) A4ABBD45-CCCD-404A-A3D3-0719B4484E43.jpeg

I watch a video recently of someone pulling a tube behind something similar. No denying the versatility!

Looks similar to a MacGregor - is it trailerable?

We have a trailer sailer as well as our mobo and considered a MacGregor but went for something a little more traditional instead.

I'm a bit late to this thread.
So, in the hope to be forgiven for the delay, I'll throw in a contribution which doesn't show only boats, but also some nice anchorages.

The boat in the first video isn't actually mine anymore, but since she's the one I owned for longer in many years of boating, and also because timber boats always have a certain "je ne sais quoi" attached to them, it would be unfair to forget her.

The second video shows my current home from home, instead. The plastic one, I mean.
The other two timber masterpieces (one of which built by Baglietto, and I kid you not!) are just for viewers' pleasure.

GREAT tunes :)

Hi Bart, yes it is! Don't forget to give me a shout next time you are around for Prolight (well, hope that those events will come back one day).

It's a US design by John Fexas, built in Taiwan by Kha Shing. Better known under the names Montefino or Horizon. Finally understood how to insert more than one pic (all shot in Vas's beautiful homeland):

Great pics. Your Cruise Reports seem to have been archived somewhere no one can ever open which is a great shame. They were a source of great info and inspiration when I headed to Greece, thanks.

The Imexus 28 whilst similar in concept to the Macgregor power sailers is a very different yacht/power sailer.
Built to a much higher standard, bigger, more sailing oriented, more yacht like internally and externally with walk around side decks and partial timber fit out and with top quality equipment throughout. Standing headroom at the galley, enclosed shower toilet and berths for 5 it’s capable of accommodating a couple for very extended periods on board. 12A2A602-2835-473F-86CF-F01154BDC794.jpeg2C64D9A7-4FB4-4C8C-9F90-ABFA20CFBD4C.jpeg2082086A-1333-4030-A6F4-4908E417E118.jpeg
Yes it’s trailerable and completely legally without over width, weight or length restrictions but it right out there pushing the boundaries of all the regular limitations.
After nearly 50 years of racing and then cruising I feel it is close to the ultimate sailing/motoring expedition/exploration platform for coastal and inland waters use.

Nice, I like it and that's from a mobo owner:LOL:, we toyed with the idea a MacGregor before settling on the 805, my only criticism is that I think you could have moored a bit closer to the shore than you did.:)

Now that looks very nice!

It was the standard and generally unappealing looks of the MacGregor that put us off. If I had been aware of the Imexus it might have been a different decision! A Google search indicates that they are available,in the U.K. but perhaps not common.

One for sale in the Netherlands with an inboard engine and outdrive, which is interesting. Also a very battered one that has partially sunk available in the UK at a low price but looks as though it would need a lot of work.

Well have I got a deal for you! ?
I actually have two having decided that my prior inboard Imexus whilst fantastically powerful was too technically complex for me to repair in many of the extremely remote locations we are planning to cruise and explore.
My prior one ( now about to go up for sale) has a 180hp turbo diesel yanmar inboard with leg that during its commissioning trials with its previous owner cracked 30 knots with the mast up!
My current one has a modest 115hp Yamaha Outboard and is limited to a pedestrian 18knots, a slug in comparison.
I actually purchased this slighter newer one for its fabulous Australian Built Aluminium roll on roll off trailer but the ease of self maintenance and ease of replacement ( if damaged ) of the outboard in very remote areas like the Kimberley’s here in Australia has seen me swap some of my live aboard cruising equipment over to the new one and my prior one about to go up for sale.

Well, leaving aside the trifling matter of it being on the other side of the world I would have been interested if it wasn’t for sharing your thoughts on the benefits of an outboard over an inboard with an outdrive leg. That and I am not sure that we could cope with 30 knots on that kind of boat! ??

Not such a big issue if you have marine diesel mechanics in your close area!
They came to Australia via 40 foot container so could always go back overseas that way! Just kidding!
Having had my daughter skiing behind my yacht with the mast up and going flat out I can say I was amazed how well it turned leaning in appropriately and how the yacht like bow cut through the chop providing a soft ride.
I didn't actually use its motoring capabilities very often but it generally created a bit of a stir when I did. ?
I was however alway the first one in the bunch back to the launching ramp ( and generally out of the water and out of the way) and the one who got that last time restricted mooring buoy spotted by a bunch of yachts a few nautical miles offshore!

Well having done some Googling and I picked up a reference to the Swallow Coast 250 on an old thread you commented on - now that looks to be a nice boat but a little pricey! ?

Is your boat on Lough Erne? I saw a Rodman 41 in Kilrush two years ago and it was getting ready to head up the River Shannon and through the Shannon Erne Waterway.
