We are now paying 83p a litre for 60/40 split what are you paying
£0.95/litre less the berth holder discount of £0.18/litre making a 60/40 split price of £0.77
Even less if you happen to be operating commercially
Not to the operator - it is your declaration, he will simply record your details, boat name (notably), etc, so it would be for you to explain to HMRC that your commercial use was valid. The 60/40 rule is an advisory that HMRC will likely not ask you any further questions, although if you had a diesel powered RIB you may struggle to prove any non propulsive use of power.Just a thought and no intention of doing it but if you rock up at a fuel berth and say "charter boat mate, give me the cheap stuff" do you have to prove that your a commercial user?

60/40 also makes it effectively non commercially viable for fishermen to set up a side line in refueling Mobos.
Again excuse my naivety but how would dracula know that I purchased the fuel at commercial rates, do the fuel companies send records of fuel sales by boats to the blood suckers !
