The pump packed up and i traced the fault to the little pressure actvated switch. It looks like the standard type of switch you find in drills and things where the switch is activated by the trigger. Hopefully it is a standard part but what are they called so I can search Maplin, Amazon or are there better suppliers for this sort of thing. We are in Sardinia so I guess it will be a post out here job as I think locating one here will be difficult.
Thanks all.

If anybody is to give advice we know to know the pump model number. In the meantime get a parts diagram from the Whale site and thereby the part number, then search the net for Whale parts with the number.

Thanks all. The switch was a standard microswitch, £14 from chandlers £4 from electrical store. Bought one only to discover that the pump diaphram side had a leak so water was getting into the electrics ( hence the corroded switch i guess) part was around £40 but cant get here in Sardinia so in the end bought new unit same output but around £60.
Similar proble featured in this months PBO
Thanks again
