Wet week in Caledonian Canal + some

Ps. If you cut the fuel off to that injector how will it lubricate cylinder?

Won't cut off fully really, just scaled back by about 90% ... also, piston crown (compression rings onwards) is stuck at top of cylinder and does not move... Piston skirt and oil scraper rings move..., so will have oil lubrication...

Only intend using the engine for manouvering until re-build, so will be low use irrespective..... and obviously, the cylinder liner and piston needs replacing anyway... Piston pin etc., are OK and firmly in place..

thanks for the fab pics Alf,

so reminded me of our delivery trip around the top and into the north sea.
we were so worried about the engine problem at that time it put a bit of a damper on the fantastic views, dolphins and all.
would love to do the trip again but this time with both engines,

thanks again Alf. hope its ur injectors.

just come across this thread from the other thread regarding the piston replacement work commencing 3rd Nov... don't know how I missed it... #1 son was born in Inverness hospital and I recognise some of the photo's that bring back fond memories of excursions to the Inverness area... we lived in a small village called Findhorn at the time, beautiful part of the world with some great walks along the banks of the spey and findhorn river just wish I'd found the boating pastime at that time, an opportunity missed spending far too much time sampling the 'heavy' instead ;)
