Westerly Centaur as a first boat, anything particular I should look closely at?

I can't believe no-one has made the obvious connection between this thread - dylan - centaur for sale? Or am I behind the curve??!!

?

Dylan's Centaur is up in Scotland somewhere, whereas the OP is down south. And the OP isn't looking for "a Centaur" in general, it's a specific one which he has an opportunity to buy, presumably from a mate (he's been out in the boat before). So it doesn't make much sense for him to buy Dylan's.

The thing I'd be checking out most carefully would be the engine. Boat engines are staggeringly expensive for what they are; a crude lump of a diesel that costs as much as a new small car!

Excellent sleuthing there. It's the brother of a mate, apart from that, spot on!

So you are saying (politely) I am behind the curve!!

don't forget to check if it's had/got osmosis and/or been treated and if so how long ago/does it need rechecking/redoing?. The windows will probably leak but are probably glass rather than Perspex and so can be fixed by someone like Eagle Windows.
