Westerly Centaur - Any suggestions

It would either be a typo or new compared to the original Volvo donk with the lovely starter handle and compression levers to catch out the unwary novice westerly owner.

In the description."modern yanmar type engine only 1500 hours" that doesnt sound very new to me

Well, it was new once. Possibly 15 years ago! In fact, it is unusual for a sailing boat engine to get used much more than 100 hours in the year.

Going back to the original question, in the 1980s I woul have given my eye teeth to be able to buy a Centaur as our first family boat. We settled on a Commando cold moulded wooden boat, which at least we could afford. We had great fun with it and it sailed well, as you would expect from a Primrose design. The mast broke however and I had to build a new Z-Spars mast and get new rigging. No big deal, I had already done the same on our previous six-meter when I was just out of university in the 60s. The Centaur the OP has viewed could give them years of fun for not much outlay.
