It is incorrect to express weight in kilograms ( or tonnes) as these are units of mass.
Yes, but we engineers do it all the time, mainly to annoy physicists. See also: centrifugal force.

As they say,they won't kill you but they'll starve you.I used to own a bilge keel ketch version. A previous owner had done Atlantic circuit (incl Venezuela) in it - single handed. He had some very bad weather, battened down below for 2 days, came through ok. They're slow but capable.
