West Indies...Tips?

I am going to Trinidad & up through the Islands soon, for the first time. Has anyone got any sailing, or general travel, hot tips fr the West Indies?

Great article. Good advice. We spent a year mucking about in the islands and my strategy of pointing to the Red Ensign and turning a pocket out (with a smile) worked every time we did'nt want to be bothered! Seems like they accept Brits are very often on tight budgets!

forget the watermaker
get an electric windlass
make sure hatches are hinged at AFT end
