just had a couple of weeks again around Falmouth, and what a change from South coast. St Mawes harbour master popping out to help me tie up, and promissing to keep an eye on the lines as the tide turns, appologising for the outrageous two pound charge for an hour. Mylor yacht harbour actually being 100pct service minded as opposed to 100pct profit minded- no room to berth sir, I ll be right down to move some boats for you.Sail and power happily together without the usual phobia about wash, people acknowledging and thanking for courtesy on the water, even barstaff at the waterside pub appearing to take a line.
Can it be the same passtime ?

Phew, thank goodness . . .

Was worried this was another post extolling the virtues of W. coast Scotland.

Rushed to reassure everyone that it's truly HORRID up here - dreadful weather (only mid 20s instead of 30s) and just a dreich rock-strewn midge-infested nightmare.

Cornwall is lovely everyone - in fact, you're generally safe anywhere S. of 56degN, but above that I'm afraid your insurance is probably not valid.
