Well I won\'t use that lifejacket then

I have been checking over my lifejackets including an old one I inherited with the boat. The condition and instructions says it all!

It can turn like that in 12 months easily.

I suggest if the top is in one piece then set it off and see if the jacket stays inflated for 24 hrs or so. If it is good then simply a new bottle will bring it up to scratch - if not - then its time to replace it.

I thought that I would wait until the water is warm then jump in with it on and see either if it works or what an inflated LJ feels like.

And then I'll throw it away - it's old and tatty and I don't like manual ones. Fortunately the ones I do use look OK.

Does that mean only jerks are allowed to inflate it, or,
if you inflate it you must be a jerk?

In the antiques trade they call that a patina..and charge more for it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'd give it a pull, and see if the LJ stays up...I couldn't resist it

Thats very rude! Stay after class and write out 100 times " Pulling my pud will make me go deaf"
