It's nice to have a wee bit banter and fun to brighten up our otherwise dull little lives, especially now we are into the non-sailing season. However, I can see your point in that it can all get a bit out of hand at times, and we need to be brought to heel now and again.

There's plenty of banter opportunity in scuttlebutt and Mobochat. This is the one forum that should be set aside for serious discussions.

It will avoid all the debates that flare up every so often about how boaty or non boaty Scuttlebutt and Mobochat are.

Keep PBO as a serious and sensible boating forum, and avoid it being a general forum, or it loses the ability to keep the people with technical knowledge who avoid the chat forums.
